The Most Pinterest-Worthy Dinner of All Time
Last week, myself and a few other very lucky guests received a wonderfully cryptic e-invite from the team at Celebrations to come and join them for a video shoot and dinner at the stunning Tranquility Cove property, part of the Luxury Cayman Villas group of high-end rental properties.
In announcing the collaboration of these two powerhouses in decor and design, there was also a bit of mystery behind the invite. With this intrigue, I jumped at the invitation! Who wouldn't say yes to a Thursday evening spent wining and dining with first class catering, gorgeous floral displays at a stunning villa?!
The slight drive from South Sound to Breakers was full of anticipation and my eagerness to avoid rush hour traffic had me arriving over 25 minutes early. Heck, better to make the most of these moments, right?! This is why I work for myself after all!
Despite arriving early, the unveiling of the mystery surprise was kept hidden from us with the outdoor pool patio totally screened off. Not one to waste time at a beautiful home, this gave me the chance to really explore and take in the design of this fantastic family home.
Tranquility Cove is an incredible 6 bedroom, 6.5 villa located on a private beach in the Breakers/Pease Bay area. The Luxury Cayman Villas group purchased the property as an old and slightly tired family home. It had unique features like the entire top floor being one master suite and it must have been ridiculously enormous (see current master which is still huge!). With their keen designers' eye and some very clever renovation decisions, like putting in the most gorgeous pool and patio area, this home was elevated to a one of a kind vacation rental and ultimate destination wedding venue. It's no surprise it's become one of their most popular villas!
"Simple luxuries were carefully chosen to create breezy elegance, and walls of windows keep your gaze centered on the bright sea just steps away. We designed our outdoor living area to provide a boutique hotel experience just for your family: little ones can splash in the infinity pool while you stretch out on a lounger in the sun." ~ Luxury Cayman Villas.
Now back to our dreamy dinner.
Earlier in the day there had been a photoshoot for the latest and most glamorous Isy B. collection snapped in front of a gorgeous backdrop infinity pool and sea view blues. This exciting sneak peek ensured that we got excited for what was to come.
Once the magical twilight hour had hit, with the sun at just the right height, the pool paradise was revealed. To cement this magical moment, JoAnne V Brown, head of Celebrations and pioneer of luxury weddings in the Caribbean, made her exciting announcement - the launch of JVB Design House.
JVB Design House is JoAnne's newest company set to provide the absolute best in luxury weddings and event design across the Caribbean and around the world.
As a taste of what this brand represents, JVB Design House decided to formally launch this new venture with the most elaborate but intimate private dinner for 14 of us lucky guests. A wonderfully generous and very smart marketing decision - she's got 14 loyal customers already! Once the curtains were parted, the most decadent outdoor decor was unveiled.
Think glass beaded curtains, crystal-laden chandeliers and white candles on every ledge. White roses were built into tall geometric structures lining each side of the pool and every edge was covered in white, shimmery luxury. I'm normally not a huge fan of crystals, glittery details and silver sparkle but the combined effect really was jaw dropping - especially contrasted against the aqua blue sea and pool, with the pink hues of the sun setting sky.
Our stunned and amazed reactions were caught on video by the epic team at Picture This , including some serious photography/videography superstars - Guy Waller, Daria Keenan and Jason Banawa (who did our wedding video!). We then took to our seats to enjoy a three course meal provided by the always delicious Mise En Place . We were quick to eat up a delicious local baby greens salad to start with yummy warm pine nuts, tomatoes, carrot, cucumbers and a very seasonal mango, lime vinagrette. Our entree was a choice between Mahi Mahi or Grilled Fillet of Beef and I happily went with the fresh fish. Of course a hazelnut chocolate torte for dessert didn't hang around long - not even long enough for me to get a snap!
What a night to remember this was - an incredible showcase of these major collaborations and a great evening for us to celebrate some truly fantastic home-grown brands!
Thank you to all involved and wishing you the best of luck with these new and exciting partnership!
In the meantime, I can be found blogging from this bath tub....
