Top 5 Swimming Pools In The World

In the name of wallowing in a warm pool, sipping on a delicious cocktail with a slightly soggy, crumpled-edged, trashy novel just out of reach, I thought I'd share a few of the most amazing pools found across the globe. There were too many to pick from and they're all neatly displayed here if you fancy some lavish daydreaming.

I've whittled down my "must swim" list to a sexy top 5 pools:

1. HOTEL ALILA UBUD, BALI INDONESIA

Hotel Alila Ubud, Bali Indonesia.jpg

Bali has always been a dream location following my sister's honeymoon there many years ago, but in the last 6 months it has continually popped into my world in various news feeds and online hints.

Ubud is a town on the Indonesian island of Bali in the Ubud District, located amongst rice paddies and steep ravines in the central foothills of the Gianyar region; it looks amazing. I am dreaming of a detoxing vacation to the lush forests and undulating paddies relaxing with some herbal tea by this stunning pool. Bali 2015 - sign me up!

2. BELMOND HOTEL CARUSO, AMALFI COAST

Italy has the European charm, foodie-allure and frankly pure sex-appeal like no other.

The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in the Province of Salerno in Southern Italy. Beyond clips in EntourageBeyonce lyrics, and iconic Gray Malin aerial shots, the Amalfi Coast is known for its production of limoncello liqueur as the area is a known cultivator of lemons. If you haven't ever tried limoncello, it's a must.  It will blow your socks off!

3. BOUCAN BY HOTEL CHOCOLAT, ST LUCIA

"Noted for its oodles of small and luxurious resorts that drip color and flair, St Lucia is really two islands in one. Rodney Bay in the north offers modern comforts amid a beautiful bay. In the south, Soufrière is at the heart of a gorgeous region of old plantations, hidden beaches and the geologic wonder of the impossibly photogenic Pitons." Lonely Planet at its finest.

Having grown up in the Cayman Islands, I'd like to think I know a thing or two about the Caribbean. But that's actually far from the truth. Travel between the western and eastern Caribbean islands has historically been difficult and expensive. However, given there are such magical havens on our doorstop I've decided to really commit to exploring our Caribbean neighbourhood. And St. Lucia might be first up. It is beautiful, and not to mention this hotel is based around a historic cocoa estate. That's right, they 'grow' chocolate, need I say more?!

4. MARINA BAY SANDS, SINGAPORE

Look at that view!

As the world's largest pool at this height, the Sands SkyPark Infinity Pool is located 57 storeys above the ground and stretches an impressive 150 metres across Singapore. Imagine doing laps that high, surely that altitude would double the calories!

5.  GRACE, SANTORINI

I've left the best til last...

From Chloe Poliwka's instagraming to many many couples vacationing to Santorini, it has been on my holiday radar for the last year and it's going to get a visit from us in the very near future!

The amazing blues, dusty mountainous landscape and stunning white-wash walls make this location a one of a kind setting for an amazing holiday.

"The Grace Hotel is an exclusive boutique hotel in Santorini, Greece, perched above the world-famous Caldera with breathtaking views and sumptuous sunsets. The hotel has received global critical acclaim and was listed in the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List 2012 for Best Location in Europe. The pride of this romantic escape is The Villa – a 400 sq m double suite offering the ultimate luxury on Santorini island with the most perfect view of Greece's Aegean Sea amid privacy and tranquillity."

It's perfect.
