When it comes to staycations, sometimes the most memorable getaways are the ones closest to home. And for us, Botanica Cayman offered the perfect setting for a family getaway.
Tucked away just behind Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, this hidden gem is the ideal escape from the everyday hustle.
Having admired this thoughtful brand for many years, I was excited to finally experience it first-hand. From the moment we stepped into the Deluxe Cottage, we knew we were about to enjoy something truly special.

Located just a short stroll from Seven Mile Beach, Botanica Cayman is the kind of place that feels worlds away yet is perfectly connected to everything you might want to explore.
It’s the ideal mix of tranquillity and accessibility —private enough to offer the peaceful escape we craved but close enough to the main restaurants and attractions you’d want to explore on a vacation. If you’re feeling lazy, they now have the most trendy vintage Defender house car to shuttle you around in style.
Whether you want to lounge by the pool, enjoy a peaceful moment with your morning coffee in the lush gardens, or venture out to explore the island, Botanica's location provides the best of both worlds.
Caymanian Charm Meets Modern Luxury
As soon as we walked into the Deluxe Cottage, we were struck by the impeccable styling - a seamless blend of contemporary design and traditional Caymanian details. Think white ship-lap walls, earthy-toned, textured fabrics and furniture, with pops of colour in beautiful Cayman artwork and wallpaper.
The spacious two-bedroom layout is perfect for families or small groups, with room for up to six guests. The master bedroom is a true sanctuary, featuring a luxurious ensuite with both a shower and a freestanding bathtub — a perfect spot to unwind after a day in the sun. The second bedroom, designed with families in mind, offers a unique setup: a king-sized bed with two bunk beds above it—making it ideal for kids or a group of friends.
The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fully stocked kitchen, a cozy lounge area, a shaded veranda and a showstopper of a private swimming pool!
But what truly makes this space stand out are the thoughtful Caymanian touches scattered throughout. From the locally sourced decor to the island-inspired artwork adorning the walls, every detail is a nod to Cayman’s culture and heritage, which felt extra special for a local (a reminder that we have so much abundance of art around us!). For visitors, it really feels like an authentic Caymanian experience, yet with all the luxury you'd expect from a high-end property.
For those who need to blend work and leisure, the cottage offers a private workspace with a desk overlooking the entrance or a shaded outdoor dining area. Whether you’re catching up on emails or simply enjoying a peaceful moment with a view, these thoughtful additions ensure you can stay connected without losing the serene atmosphere of the cottage.
RELAX IN A DREAMY SPACE
While the Deluxe Cottage is a destination in itself, the beautiful gardens offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. The Cottage’s private pool area is an absolute highlight - and with our upcoming renovations at home, it was one of the reasons we wanted to come and experience Botanica for ourselves.
Whether you’re soaking up the sun, enjoying a refreshing swim, or lounging by the pool with a drink in hand, the space offers everything you need for a relaxing afternoon. We even came out to lounge on the double lounger under the stars which was so romantic.
If you’re in the mood to dine outside, the dedicated outdoor dining space with a grill is perfect for creating meals together and making lasting memories under the Caribbean sky. We loved this for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a toddler!
The property’s lush gardens are another highlight. With winding pathways, vibrant flowers, and native plants, there’s something magical about wandering through the peaceful green space. It’s the perfect place for morning walks, afternoon naps in a hammock, or simply enjoying the tranquil atmosphere that Botanica offers. The outdoor shower is a real design detail and we are so inspired to bring this lush tropical landscaping to our home and pool renovation project!

If you’re new to Cayman (or this area) you’ll be pleased to hear there are lots of great restaurants and attractions super close by.
Here are some current favourites not to miss:
Bonny Moon Beach Club - Enjoy upgraded beach access at this super stylish beach club offering light bites, yummy meals, a variety of cocktails and live music right on prime Seven Mile Beach.
The Grove - If you’re after a day out with shopping, dining and more options for the kids, The Grove is just round the corner from Botanica and offers just that
Morgans & Bacaro - Relaxed but elevated outdoor dining is done best by Morgans and Bacaro, two neighbouring restaurants located in the Yacht Club - you can’t go wrong at either.
Cemetery Beach - if you’re after world-class snorkelling, you should definitely plan a trip to Cemetery Beach - a shaded public beach that’s home to turtles in mating season! Botanica is also about to launch it’s beautiful new Beach House located right off of Cemetery Beach, stay tuned!
Horse Riding along Barkers Beach - a unique activity is going horseback riding at Barkers where they’ll take you and the horses into the water to cool off.
Gift Shopping - Don’t miss the Artisan and farmers market at Camana Bay on Wednesdays 10AM to 4PM, or venture south to Pure Art Gift Shop for an amazing array of souvenirs and local artwork.
Eastern Districts - it would be remiss to visit Grand Cayman and not explore the Eastern districts, the more quaint side of the island.
